Where I have to remember that baseball season already renders me broke…

I only own two “Game Worn” pieces of memorabilia. The oft-mentioned (and now autographed – THANK YOU KYLE – and Kelly!) Kyle Snyder batting practice jersey, (I heart this jersey. This jersey will NEVER appear on eBay EVER. Never, ever, NEVER. Just so we’re clear.) and a Portland SeaDogs jersey that belonged to Jimmy Mann (which I bought at a silent auction the SeaDogs were having. It helped support the team and Mann was a journeyman minor leaguer and I took a shine to him. Sue me.).

I really never had any deep need to purchase game-worn clothing. But I really wanted a Kyle jersey and it turned out getting the game-worn one was the quickest way for me to get it – and the Mann jersey money went to a good cause and, hopefully, made Mann feel good that someone wanted his jersey. So I had, what I thought were, good reasons for getting those two.

I have no “good reason” for this one…but I want it.

I really, really want it.

But, I promise you, I won’t be getting it. There is no way I’m paying that kind of money for a baseball cap. Even one worn by my man Mike Timlin. I can’t do it. I’m in enough debt. It’s a RIDICULOUS purchase and I’m not doing it. I’m not. Really.

Instead, I will just covet it and hope that the person who does end up with it will appreciate it as much as I would and not do something annoying like RE-sell it on eBay. So, seriously, I won’t be the one to buy this item. But damn if I was a less responsible person my credit card company would be getting a phone call right now. 🙂

Incidentally, if you are in the market for used Mike Timlin clothes, folks on eBay are still trying to get rid of his pants.

It must be incredibly surreal to be famous and have people selling your castoff clothing on line for hundreds of dollars.
