Mikelowellaug13Sox sweep the Orioles while the Yanks drop two out of three thus far to the Angels.

Sox face Detroit tomorrow; Yanks finish their series with Los Angeles.

There’s still a lot of baseball to be played, folks.  But at this point, the Sox are now, again, only one game behind the Yankees.  Not exactly a frightening spot to be in.

So much for the great demise folks spoke of.  (And, yes, I’m now enjoying the "Wily Mo Pena Era" – doesn’t mean I don’t still miss Bronson!)

Bad outings by Lester and Papelbon today.  The win and the save are misleading.  Mike Lowell saved everyone’s cheese today.  Lester’s with the grand slam and Papelbon’s with that great catch to end the game.  They both owe him a little something.

And how about Doug Mirabelli homering in each of his last three games?  Doug Mirabelli, offensive master! 🙂

These young ones could learn a few things from the ‘old’ guys, eh?

(Man, as I finished typing this the Dodgers won with a rookie Russ Martin walk-off off of Vinnie Chaulk.  I haven’t seen Nomar this happy in years.  15 out of the last 16 games they’ve played, they’ve won.  Boy, they have the fire, eh?  Nice job, fellas.)
