And now for something less cranky…

Moonoverfenwayapril132006jpg I was at Fenway for the first time this season!!!!!

Honestly, win or lose, I just love being there.  It’s a temple to me.  It’s an experience I can’t relate properly to those who don’t get it.  Mattandtekapril132006

Thanks to Michael (and Kim, who couldn’t make the game) for offering me the ticket.

The weather was perfect…aside from the idiot boo-birds, the crowd was good and with the rally in the ninth, it was a really fun game to watch.  (Got to see a Big Papi homerun – that never gets old!)

I never saw Lilly pitch in person…it was interesting.  I bet the boy wishes he could pitch against the Red Sox in every one of his outings.

Keith Foulke looks good.  A few more outings like this and I can see him getting  back to his 04 form.  Timlin looked good too.  Aside from expecting Julian Tavarez to hit one of the Blue Jays, I didn’t have any anxiety during his stint Mikeapril132006either.  This is all promising.

I’m sorry, though…the feel good story of the night?  Mr. Mike Lowell.  All ye naysayers -> there’s the door.  The guy made some filthy plays tonight.  Mark Loretta too.Papispit_1

I can’t remember the last time I had so much faith in the entire infield.

For those who care about such things…they play  "Jump Around" when Youk is at bat – and (and I LOVE this) "Low Rider" for Mark Loretta.  Mike Lowell, seemingly, has no entrance music.  We need to fix that.

I got to hear "Black Betty" tonight.  Which means I got to see Mike Timlin in his 2006 Fenway debut.  I was a happy chickie.

The Blue Jays are gone and tomorrow the Mariners come to town.  It’s a new day, a new series…and Mama Red Sox Chick scored her baby daughter  tickets to Saturday’s game (thanks, again, MD!) – so good times are a-coming!

Have faith, folks!  9 games does not a season make!
