The complete opposite of yesterday’s movie in that the entire thing was disturbing and depressing. If you don’t like movies where bad things happen to children, stay away from this one. Jon Hamm and Josh Lucas, especially Lucas, are amazing in this film and if you can watch a movie and just focus on great acting, this film won’t be tough to watch. James Van Der Beek definitely showed he’s a better actor than his resume might show. But the storyline is gut-wrenching as is the resolution and it’s a film I’d prefer to not think about now that it’s over.
It was only 90 minutes long and it didn’t drag on but it still was too long. Such a sad story. I need something to cheer me up.
