Well that didn’t go quite as planned…but it still ended well!

In the seventh inning, Michael Bowden left with one out and one on and a score of 3-2. Kyle Snyder came in and threw six pitches. The sixth getting whacked for a two-run home run by Matt Macri. PawSox down 4-3.

Bowden’s line was six hits, three runs, and six strike outs in 6.1 innings. Kyle got the next two hitters out (fly out, swinging strike out) and then came back in the 8th to pitch a perfect inning. Unfortunately, the PawSox couldn’t come back and they lost the game 4-3.

So, once again, Michael Bowden pitches well but doesn’t get the win. Kyle pitched well too, save for one bad pitch that Macri smashed for the two-run home run, but, unfortunately, he gets the loss.

As I type this, the PawSox are in the clubhouse and just found out that they’re in the playoffs for the first time in 5 years! So, I’m a little bummed for Michael and Kyle – but, hey, the PawSox are in the playoffs – they have more work to do before their season is over!

I’m happy for the whole team…it’s a tremendous accomplishment…but, yeah, I’m extremely happy that Kyle is heading for another playoff season.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE PAWSOX ON MAKING THE PLAYOFFS!

I’m listening to the radio coverage of the PawSox celebrating the playoff berth. Lots of yelling and flowing of “champagne and wine”. WHJJ just went to commercial to fix “technical difficulties” during the celebration coverage. The way KellyO described it: “It just sounded like they were slaughtering people at the ‘celebration’…!”

😆

Really classy…radio dude is thanking/saluting the PawSox players (including David Pauley who got called up tonight when Aardsma went on the DL) who are no longer with the team but who helped the team get to where they are.

The PawSox radio dudes said that the team will leave the park tonight and take the four hour bus ride to Lehigh Valley/Allentown for their series against the IronPigs. That’s a long, late bus ride. Especially when you’re getting drunk. Have a good time and then rest well, fellas!
