A Quickie

It’s 1:53am and I just got settled into bed. 🙂

Let me map out my day.

July 31st is my maternal grandmother’s birthday. She died five years ago this past May. So, honestly, the day was set up to suck.

I work in a nine person office. Six of the people in my office are men. The six men went on a golf outing today and didn’t invite the three women in the office.

July 31st also happened to be the last day, in my office, of the person I am probably closest to in the office. I had been trying to avoid it and today it finally hit me that he’ll be “gone” tomorrow.

And, of course, the Red Sox traded Manny Ramirez.

So, as you can imagine, my mindset wasn’t the greatest and at 1:57, now, I’m eight drinks (mixed drinks and beers) into a drunk. 🙂

I won’t get into the personal stuff but I WILL say this: I’ll miss Manny. I defended him a lot and loved having him on the team. But if trading him means the rest of the team gets piece of mind (and keep in mind I haven’t read anything on it or watched anything either since just got in) then, at the very least, I’m happy we got Jason Bay.

I still haven’t truly processed Manny (and Hansen and Moss) being gone, though.

Tonight’s game will be terribly odd without Manny, won’t it?
