Matt Clement to Tina (I listened to Red Sox Chick and colored my hair between Tuesday’s and Thursday’s games) Cervasio,
How many baseball players use the word "advantageous"? Seriously.
Well, weather-permitting, Matty is on the mound tonight, so we’ll see how the ‘rest’ affects him.
Bronson pitched really well again last night and got a no-decision. Junior is BACK and won the game with a three-run homerun. Nice work, Junior.
Derek Lowe…well, let’s just say he didn’t fare as well as Bronson last night.
I really don’t care what anyone says. Leaving the Bronx with 2 out of 3 wins and having won 3 out of 4 games thus far versus the Yankees – these things are sweet. They also make watching NESN and ESPN this morning much easier.
In a post-game interview last night, Johnny Damon mentioned hurting his shoulder and foot when he made that amazing catch last night. Ouch.
I don’t usually mention other sports here but I feel the need to mention the passing of Floyd Patterson. I’m not a big boxing fan, but Patterson’s life always fascinated me and I was truly saddened to hear that he died yesterday. I like this quote from the article I linked here:
Patterson won fans because he had a big man’s punch, but a small man’s jaw
Rest in Peace, Mr. Patterson.
