…after writing about Johnny Judas…and then I read this, about my boy, Bronson.
Arroyo could have possibly made more money by doing just one year deals, but wanted the security of the long term deal. With this deal, Arroyo also has basically a "gentleman’s agreement" that he won’t be shipped to another team this off-season.
Let me copy one part over again:
Arroyo could have possibly made more money by doing just one year deals, but wanted the security of the long term deal…
So Bronson didn’t automatically go for more money. How odd. I thought that’s what all players do?
Except for Tim Wakefield. And Trot Nixon. And Gabe Kapler. And Mike Timlin. And David Ortiz…
Gee…I guess there are some players who actually DO care about playing for a specific team over playing for more money. Go figure.
And to think, Johnny Damon comes across as such an intelligent person. Guess he doesn’t know as much as he thinks.
