I’ll wrap you tight around my wrist

So yesterday’s game was long (waves to Joe West) and ended rather frighteningly with Adrian Beltre trying to break Jacoby Ellsbury’s ribs…but all’s well that ends well since the Sox won the series and Jacoby’s ribs are only bruised not broken.  I’ll take it.  (It seems, unless there’s been a tremendous change since yesterday, though, that Jacoby might sit out a game or two.)

Had a great time on the “Throwing Like a Girl” podcast last night.  Only sorry that we didn’t have more time to gab.  (And my voice is going this morning.  It was feeling a little weak while I was chatting with Caryn and Julie so now it’s getting even!)  If you missed it, you can catch it here (or subscribe to the podcast via iTunes).  I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Julie and Caryn for inviting me on – and thank those of you so kind to have already commented on it.  (“Are you going to do your own podcast?” won for most used subject line in emails sent to me overnight.  It’s flattering and I’m still considering it.  We’ll see how the season progresses.)

Answered some more questions, for those interested, over at FormSpring.  Thanks to all of you participating.  You help keep the writing juices flowing and give me a lot to think about (and, also, give me ideas for blog entries like the most recent question did!).

Were this any other April, I’d be lamenting all the afternoon Red Sox games this week (every game in Minnesota is an afternoon game) but since I have some free time on my hands it works well for me!  Today it’s Lester v Pavano at 4:10pm ET to open the new Target Field.  (Don’t laugh.  Pavano’s ERA thus far?  1.29.  The Mad Bobcat Murderer’s ERA?  A cool 7.20.)    I will never understand building a stadium in Minnesota without, at the very least, a retractable roof, but I sure am happy to see The Baggie go bye-bye.
