But even I didn’t know I could pitch that good

I think they should show this video at Fenway and on NESN on every Opening Day:

There is never a time when watching this video doesn’t make me feel good. “It reminds us of all that once was good and it could be again.”  Note for those who can’t see the video – it ISN’T Terrance Mann’s “People Will Come” speech.  But since I’m thinking of it, let’s throw that one in too!

Every Opening Day is a day when every baseball fan has hope.  It doesn’t matter that the Yankees won the World Series in 2009 – every team, on Opening Day, is a potential World Series champion.  That’s why we keep coming back year after year – because there is always hope.  When things are dark and crappy and you just want to punch walls all day, a few hours with your favorite baseball team can make things seem not so bad.

On Sunday night, next year begins again.  I’m blessed to be able to go to Fenway and watch our boys knock the ball around with the Yanks.

I hope everyone safely enjoys whatever holiday they are celebrating – even if that holiday is only Opening Night!
