After last night’s game, all I had to do was shut the television off, close my eyes and go to sleep. Yet, right now, I’m wiped out. So, even though I initially criticized (somewhere else) Tito’s lineup for today, I guess I can understand guys who actually played that entire game needing a day off. In case you haven’t seen it, here’s today’s lineup:
1. Julio Lugo, SS
2. Jacoby Ellsbury, CF
3. Kevin Youkilis, 1B
4. Jason Bay, LF
5. Mike Lowell, 3B
6. Rocco Baldelli, RF
7. Nick Green, 2B
8. George Kottaras, C
9. Josh Beckett, RHP
Looks like a real National League lineup to me. Glad Tito has decided to embrace the culture while in Philly.
Sox get a day off tomorrow so I guess Tito wants Tek and Pedroia rested up for the dreaded Marlins on Tuesday.
No, really, I get that guys deserve a day off. I do. And I’m sure they’re wiped out from the last two games. I just hate looking at a lineup and thinking that the manager is sacrificing a game. I know it’s a marathon and this game isn’t a do or die situation but “Baldelli, Green, Kottaras” doesn’t instill the kind of confidence in a lineup that I was looking for. (No offense to any of those guys, who have all been contributing in their own ways. I just don’t like them all being bunched up together that way.)
But I shouldn’t complain, I know. Five wins in a row against two good teams…well, that should instill enough confidence in the team as a whole to come together and pound out another win.
Josh Beckett v JA Happ today at 1:35pm today. I have faith that this team can pull off another sweep.
I need to keep the mojo going…
Win, Joshua Patrick, Just win. (And some runs would be nice too, fellas!) <–We started this streak with JPB and we’ll continue the streak with JPB!
