What this year’s home run derby has taught me (thus far).

(Mind you, the damn thing isn’t over yet as I begin writing this. I might be able to add more by the end of the night.)

1. If the league stocks up on ex-drug addicts the world will be a better place.

2. Only the best players play for the New York Yankees. Apparently, all of the other players in the league suck.

3. A “Bronx Cheer” is a GOOD thing. (WTF Chris Berman?)

4. Ryan Howard should have been invited to participate because he’s black.

5. It’s totally reasonable to compare home runs hit in a home run derby to home runs hit against real pitching in a real game.

I don’t know why I watch this thing every year. I enjoy the Derby but God I hate listening to the ESPN guys babble on.

Edit to add number 6.  Apparently not ALL players who aren’t Yankees suck.  See, the ones who DON’T suck and AREN’T Yankees?  They will eventually BECOME Yankees.

(John Kruk saying that the Yankees fans were cheering Josh Hamilton because he’ll probably be a Yankee in a few years.  STFU Kruk, thanks.)
