Vote for MEEEEEE!

Pat Neshek actually has TWO websites pretty much dedicated to getting people to vote him into the All Star Game.  (Paying closer attention, they’re both called "On the Road with Pat Neshek and are just mirrored versions of each other.  Looks like he started one and MLB is copying it on MLBlogs.  Sigh.)   I just find it a little odd.  It’s one thing when the team pushes for you, or when the fans start a campaign to get you in.  It’s another when  you do it yourself.  Here’s what he has to say about it:

Then you get articles saying "the self promoter" when other guys have full blown ad campaigns and computers set up for 40,000 people to vote at during their home games.

I think he misses the point of the fans and teams doing it versus your doing it yourself.    (I also think he sounds a litter bitter and is missing the point of this being FUN!)  Blatant self-promotion to win a popularity contest aside, I might have thrown him a few votes if not for the fact that it seems to me the friggin’ Twins roll over for the freaking Yankees every time they play them.  Win a damn game, fellas, how hard is that?

(I probably should add that, on the whole, I think his blog is cute and enjoyable. It sounds like it is actually written by him, unlike some other blogs, and I’m big on this kind of communication from the players.)
