Let’s try this again

mikegettyheadshot.jpgJosh Beckett tries to make us forget Curt Schilling tonight at 8:10 EST.  You just know that the Giant Sphincter already has his "Beckett Deal a Colossal Mistake" column all typed up for tomorrow morning.

Shut him the hell up, Josh.

Mike Timlin will pitch the seventh inning tomorrow night in Charlotte for the PawSox and then START at McCoy Stadium on Saturday.  Man, I’d love to be there on Saturday.  Easter obligations won’t allow it but I’ll be rooting for him.

In adding the reference to this entry, I re-read the article and, now that I’m more awake, notice Mr. Bill Ballou’s glaring mistake in his opening paragraph:

Tim Wakefield is the only current Red Sox player who was alive when Rico Petrocelli caught Rich Rollins’ looper to shortstop on Oct. 1, 1967

I’m sure this will please Curt Schilling and Mike Timlin…both men were born in 1966, same as Tim Wakefield (And Timlin is older than Wake  by five months).

Nice research skills
I know it’s tough to find information about Red Sox players on the Internet, but you’d think if you were going to begin your article with a "fact" you’d actually RESEARCH it before you set it in stone.

To steal a line from Jere, terribly job Ballou.

In the hopes that someone at the Worcester Telegram and Gazette fixes the mistake, I’ve grabbed it for posterity!

Buck up Red Sox fans, things start to get better at 8:10 tonight!
