Nice win, Tigers!

Boring, but good game.  I’d like to be excited about Kenny Rogers’ scoreless innings streak, but given that Fox caught him red-handed (so to speak) and when asked about it, he ignored it.  Well, maybe Kenny is the jerk that so many think he is?  Can’t help thinking about the movie "Major League" when Eddie tells Ricky "I haven’t got an arm like you, kid. I have to put anything on it I can find. Someday you will too. ", in regard to putting snot on the ball.

Seems a little suspect to me (and obviously Fox as well) that in one inning he has something on his hand, but in the next he doesn’t.  It’s too bad, I was really excited about how well he’d been doing this post-season.  Now, just like so many other players, I’m looking back wondering what he did to help himself out.  Now, I get it that he pitched well AFTER he took the stuff off his palm…but now that puts it in my head, and I’m sure others, wondering what else he might be doing that he hasn’t been caught doing.

(Oh, my mistake.  Zelasko, Byrnes and Kennedy are servicing Rogers now, so I guess it isn’t such a big deal.  Sometimes baseball frustrates the hell out of me.)

On Tuesday it’ll be Chris Carpenter against Nate Robertson.  I like Nate.  I have no deep feelings about Chris.  But I think I’m rooting for the Cardinals in the next game.
