Red Sox and Yankees Sunday night game postponed

Red Sox fans were saved three plus hours of former manager Terry Francona opining about the current state of the team when Mother Nature intervened on Sunday and forced the postponement of the final game in the weekend series.  The game was scheduled for 8pm on ESPN with Francona as one of the announcers but because of the weather Sox fans instead got a night off from the stress of the series while the team hopped a flight to Minnesota for the beginning of their three-game series against the Twins that starts tonight at 8pm.

Daniel Bard, originally scheduled to pitch on Sunday, will have his spot in the rotation skipped, and will be available to pitch out of the bullpen. Tonight at Target Field, Jon Lester will take the mound against Jason Marquis.  Bard is still scheduled to make his next start on Friday when the team opens a series against the White Sox in Chicago.

Yesterday’s game has yet to be rescheduled but if you had tickets for it you will be able to use them on whichever day is chosen for the makeup date.
