Bottom line is that I liked the film. Tough to do when two of the leads, actors you like in pretty much everything else you watch (Laura Linney & Jeff Daniels) don’t play particularly nice people but I still enjoyed it. Well, enjoyed might be the wrong word. I mean, I found most of it pretty depressing, but the story was interesting, the acting was great (except for Anna Paquin who, in my opinion, is amazingly fortunate to have the job she currently has) and I found myself genuinely caring about what happened to the two boys.
So this one is short and sweet…I liked it. I’d suggest it to people who haven’t seen it…and I’d watch it again.
