Play Ball, Baby!

I have to make this brief, as I’m getting ready for a day OUT of baseball. πŸ™‚ So, my ramblings, in no particular order:

* Johnny Damon botching that play yesterday was huge, on many levels. I never want to wish someone injured, but his being taken out of the game, possibly, really helped out.

* The Red Sox take two from the Yankees, regardless of the standings, always makes for good baseball watching!

* I missed Bronson hit a triple get a hit that landed him on third thanks to an error AND sing “God Bless America” yesterday. I eventually saw the triple, but still haven’t seen footage of it anywhere. πŸ™ Boo to MLB for not highlighting this on their site!

* PawSox also won again yesterday. Originally, I was heading down there today to watch Clay Buchholz pitch against wife-beater, Brett Myers. But my plans changed. πŸ™‚

* I’m heading to Lowell (where I’ve never seen a game) to see the Spinners play the Jamestown Jammers. The game is an hour earlier than the PawSox game and it’ll be interesting to see how “easy” it is to get there since I’m attending a group game in a couple of weeks. Oh, yeah, and some tall guy is pitching for the Spinners today. That could be interesting. πŸ˜‰

YAY! I’m going to see Kyle pitch in Lowell today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have no idea how it’ll work. If they’ll only keep him in an inning or two or if they’ll let him pitch a complete game (or as much of a complete game as he’s able to pitch). I’m, really, excited. Which might sound silly to some, but screw it. It can’t hurt to throw your support behind someone who needs/deserves it right?

So I’m off in a couple of hours to see some live baseball. By the time the game starts in Lowell, the Sox/Yanks game will be well underway. I’m not really bummed about not being able to see the game. Heck, there will be plenty of updates to be had on the phone and I’ll admit to being a little wary of watching Justin Masterson pitch against that lineup. So better he does fabulous and I have to watch it on Baseball Tonight than he gets banged around with my watching the game through my fingers, right?

Kick butt, Justin. And Clay…and Kyle. It’s a heck of a day for a ballgame (or three!).
