What’s Happening?

  • Manny gets his 500th homerun celebration tonight at Fenway
  • Tonight’s game (and Thursday night’s game) starts at 6:05pm NOT 7:05pm.
  • Yankees lost again to the Kansas City Royals
  • Angels blew a good lead to lose to the Tampa Bay Rays
  • Ken Griffey, Jr. finally hit his 600th homerun (on the road, just like Manny)…attendance at Reds games will drop again
  • Clay Buchholz had a less than stellar outing in Pawtucket yesterday
  • Bobby Kielty (also in Pawtucket) was put on the disabled list

Speaking of the disabled list in Pawtucket, today marks day 7 of Kyle’s second stint on the dl. The timing doesn’t mean anything except he’s been on the shelf a while, there’s been no news about him and I’m hoping no news is good news. More positive vibes to Kyle. Hoping to see you pitch again soon! (Take heart, Kyle, a photo of you is winning the photo contest! And I didn’t even rig it!)

A reminder that voting ends tonight. So you have until midnight to choose your favorite.

The Celtics/Lakers finals keep bringing back memories of the Celtics teams from the 80s. My sister and I keep reminiscing about Dennis Johnson. It’s still tough to talk or write about him without crying – we certainly lost him too soon. SO to keep the good Celtic mojo going, I was going to post a DJ vid from YouTube, but I want to keep the happy going today, so I leave you with this – it isn’t against the Lakers, but it has the classic DJ/Bird “hug”. Have a great day folks!

GO Sox! Go Celts!
