Hello Richmond!!!!!

This wasn’t when he hit the 500th – but it was the same night!

I’m sharing internet time and don’t want to hog it, so this’ll be not as long as I had planned (when I get home Monday I’ll have lots to write and many pictures to share).

Being there to see Manny hit his 500th home run was amazing. There’s a part of me that’s bummed he didn’t do it at Fenway – had he it would have been much more fun to watch it all unfold – BUT I sent Tru a text message during the game that read “He HAS to do it tonight!”.

See, after Manny didn’t catch the second ball of the night that he should have caught, the a/v guy in the park played the song “Oops, I Did it Again”. I was on fire. But Manny shoved it down that guy’s throat. 🙂 Also, for those of you watching at home, the Orioles did NOT play “Sweet Caroline” for Manny after he hit the homer. They must have just scheduled their usually taunting at an inappropriate time. (The scoreboard reads something like “And now something special for the Red Sox fans” and then begins “Sweet Caroline”. After a few seconds of the song, you hear a needle scratching through a record. Ha-ha. High comedy. Doesn’t really bother me but the timing last night (the moment after the inning ended where Manny hit the homer) absolutely sucked.

So, although I really would have loved Manny to get it in Fenway – I dig the fact that he did in in Baltimore after they treated him so shittily – woot!

Sat next to the bullpen last night (you’re stunned, I can tell)…and got me a good view of their reaction…very cool to see them all get up and go “outside” to applaud/cheer for Manny. I love to see that kind of team support.

The bullpen had what seems to be a travel version of the Pirate flag – and they sure seemed to be having fun out there.

Okay, I know it was Manny’s 500th…but I don’t have time to edit tons of photos today so along with the Manny I took that is atop this post, I give you my version of baseball porn – my man Mike Timlin drinking a Red Bull. If Kyle was with Mike in this photo also with a Red Bull it would be the picture that made it possible for me to die happy. 😉

Mike Timlin with Red Bull

I get the feeling that Timlin really needs a Red Bull as much as I do…

(Which is to say not at all but screw it we like it so don’t judge us people!)

Bartolo today. Looking forward to seeing him pitch…just to SEE, you know?

It’s been a great weekend and I hope the winning ways continue today!
