The Boston Herald Apologizes…

to the New England Patriots.

Using the headline (at least online) “We Own Up to Error on Walkthrough Story”.

No. John Tomase printed a flat-out lie and ran with it and you didn’t even expect him to check his facts. That isn’t an error, that’s an agenda. And now you want folks to give you kudos for “owning up”. Screw you, Herald.

Prior to the publication of its Feb. 2, 2008, article, the Boston Herald neither possessed nor viewed a tape of the Rams’ walkthrough before Super Bowl XXXVI, nor did we speak to anyone who had. We should not have published the allegation in the absence of firmer verification.

How the HELL is such an allegation allowed in a newspaper if all of the above is true? They had NOTHING to back the story, yet printed it anyway?

And folks wonder why I hate the sports media.

That POS John Tomase and the editor who allowed that story should both be fired. But, of course, they won’t be. This story brought the Hearld a lot of recognition, even if it was all over something that was made up, so why would they punish that?

It hurts my head that Rob Bradford is connected to such a publication. They print whatever they want, beat it to death and then think it’s over because they print a couple of lines of apology. There’s no accountability anymore as long as it gets you ratings/readers.

Tomase is a piece of shit and the Herald is too for allowing this.

Ugh.
