Baseball Tonight! (Redux)

Most media outlets are reporting that Bobby Kielty (Kelty, people, KELTY.  God, even Tito doesn’t get this one right!) has accepted his assignment and will report to Pawtucket instead of taking the out in his contract that had him able to leave the team if he wasn’t on the Major League roster come opening day.

This makes me happy on many levels.  Not the least of  which is Kielty’s leaving would have created a hole possibly needed to be filled by a trade.  I’m not big on trades in April.  Hell, I’m not big on trades at all, who am I kidding?  Plus, I like Kielty.  Hard not to like a guy who appreciates his position on a team and just goes out and does his job.

10:05pm game tonight just to mess with the sleep I’ve finally been getting – and then a 3:35pm game tomorrow to finish off the Oakland series.   Daisuke on the mound tonight, Jon Lester on the mound for the game I can’t watch.  Someone up there likes me. 🙂

I added a calendar to the blog, and it has marked on it all the games I’ll be going to (some that I HOPE I’ll be going to!) this season.  I’ve been blessed with good friends and family and, thanks to some of them, I’m going to opening day at Fenway next week. I really hadn’t planned on it, seeing as I didn’t get tickets through Red Sox.com and didn’t want to pay scalpers/brokers prices for that day.  But now that isn’t an issue and I’ll be going with my sister.  So I’m pretty damn excited about it all.  Thanks to the special person who made it possible.  Big thanks.

Reds lost yesterday behind Aaron Harang.  Buck up, Reds fans, Bronson is on the mound tomorrow night.  Which probably means you’ll see some good pitching and then the team will lose again.  🙁

But now, the focus is on Daisuke and the Red Sox.  10:05pm can’t come soon enough!
