Dia duit!

Nick Laham/Getty Images)It was to a AAA team and during Spring Training so some people will overlook it, but Tim Wakefield threw five innings of no-hit baseball yesterday while Kevin Cash was behind the plate. I’d say Wake is finding a way to work out his emotions about Doug Mirabelli leaving the team.

Kyle was great yesterday as well (even though the Sox got their hats handed to them by Freddy Sanchez and the Pirates). 3 innings, one hit, no runs and 2 strike outs. It’s his fourth appearance this Spring where he’s thrown scoreless innings. I’m very encouraged and totally ignoring Becks comment from the last post where she told me Nick Cafardo mentioned Kyle as trade bait.

And Josh Beckett is better but still not going to Japan. Good news all around there, I’d say.

Today is Saint Patrick’s Day. As a Donnelly you’d think I’d love this day. I enjoy celebrating being Irish and especially listening to Irish music, but I’m NOT a fan of choosing this day to go out and get drunk. It’s Amateur Night. Putting on some green and going out to get drunk doesn’t make you Irish. Perpetuating a stereotype isn’t a great way to celebrate your heritage. So for those of you who are brethren, happy Saint Patrick’s Day. Here’s hoping you do the Irish proud instead of play the fool.

Sox v Yanks at 1:05pm today. Again, MLBtv is supposedly showing the game (originally it was said they’d show yesterday’s game and they didn’t) and it’s on NESN as well! We all get to enjoy a little of the rivalry this afternoon.
