Reasons to be cheerful

From the home office in Houston, Texas, the top ten reasons Sox fans still have to be in a good mood:

10.  Keep saying it, ‘Best record in MLB’.

  9.  Gagne is due for a rest.

  8.  JD Drew is hitting .433 over the last ten games and just had two three-hit games in a row.

  7.  Curt Schilling pitched 6 shut-out innings today.  (TJ points out in the comments that he gave up an unearned run…I’m willing to let that go. :D)

  6.  The Devil Rays are in town!

  5.  Kason Gabbard just got injured tonight after pitching less than two innings.  (Not really something to be ‘cheerful’ about since my heart breaks for the kid, but, hey, it could have happened while he was in OUR rotation.)

  4.  Tuesday Jon Lester is coming back to Fenway for his first start there since his cancer treatments.

  3.  Big Papi…Manny…they’re all ours!

  2. Jonathan Papelbon.  Not only a lights out closer, but an amazing interviewer as well!

and the number one reason we in Red Sox Nation should be in a good mood:

  1.  Josh Beckett.  Need I say more?

(The best part about making this list is there were more I could have added.  Mike Lowell, Hideki Okajima, hell even Mike Timlin.  We have almost an embarrassment of riches on this team and in thinking about all of this my mood after today’s loss has improved dramatically!)

Go Sox!

And I leave you with this gem from You Tube, just to give a fresh perspective!
