What are you going to do?

This man will lead us into the All-Star break with a win!
I prefer not to dwell on the last two nights of suckitude.   Well, one night of suckitude, one night of great pitching and no offense.  Papelbon didn’t lose that game last night.  Once again, men LOB lost a game.  Makes me want to bang my head.  But I won’t.  I’ll take comfort in the fact that, even while struggling a bit last night, Mike Timlin has now pitched 5 2/3 straight scoreless innings.  So maybe folks will back off all this  ‘he’s toast’ talk (although I doubt it).  And Kason Gabbard.  Sadly, the two runs he did give up (on a double that knocked in two men he walked) made the difference in this game, but he still pitched great.  In four appearances this year, he has two wins and two no-decisions.  Not bad for a fill-in, eh?

I’d much prefer that the Sox went into today’s game able to win the series rather than trying to avoid the sweep, and that they picked up a game on the Yankees instead of just staying put at 11 games ahead.  But what I want and what I get these days are usually two different things.  So I’ll be happy with one win in Detroit, and three days for most of our guys to shake it off.

I hear birds singing and the sun is shining through a skylight here. Thus starts the beginning of a great day!
