Mark Bellhorn is a free agent.
And the Bellhorn fanatics can rejoice again.
I never got the intense Bellhorn love, but I was sorry to see him leave the Red Sox (more sorry to see him do so poorly with the Red Sox after being such an important component in the 2004 post season). And I absolutely hated the idiots who booed him before he even got to bat at Fenway.
But he struggled mightily this year, and now two teams tried to send him to Triple A and he’s refused both assignments. Mark, I’ll always love you for your part in the 2004 season, but, bro, the writing is on the wall here don’t you think? You’re 31 and not getting any younger or better. Triple A might be exactly what you need to get you back on track.
In any case, I wish you the best.
Godspeed, Zig Zag.
