Surgery for Carl Crawford

Yesterday Red Sox General Manager Ben Cherington announced that outfielder Carl Crawford had arthroscopic surgery on his left wrist.

Crawford started feeling soreness in the wrist when he began his off-season routine at the beginning of the month.  Cherington also acknowledged that Crawford had complained of pain in that wrist at the end of the season.

Crawford should be able to fully participate in spring training activities but the Red Sox seem to expect him to miss Opening Day as well as a few games into the season.
