What’d I Miss?

So the plan was to watch the Yankees (I almost live-blogged that game too!), write my piece about Kyle and call it a night.  Instead, I wrote the piece about Kyle first (and timestamped it so it published after midnight – on his birthday) and then I, pretty much, passed out.  So I missed the Yankees lose and I missed Torii Hunter and Ivan Rodriguez mix it up.  Oh well.  At least I’ll get to work early.  🙂

I’m at Fenway tonight.  I’m not sure how the Sox will top Lester’s amazing performance (and Papelbon’s too, for that matter), but I’m looking forward to finding out.  What is getting lost in the win, is that the Red Sox only scored three runs last night…in the first inning.  They need to kick it up tonight against Scott Kazmir if they want to, at the very least, win this series.

It’s official, Michael Bowden and Clay Buchholz won’t be walking through that door for the rest of the season.  The team has plans for their development and they don’t involve any more play in September.   The Clay move wasn’t a surprise, but I was taken aback by the Bowden one.  I really expected to see him up here this week.  As I say often, what the hell do I know?

The Lowell Spinners played their first playoff game in the franchise’s history last night – and won.  It took extra innings and a bases-loaded walk, but they did it.  In the 13th inning, Ryan Dent walked to seal the 4-3 win.  Tonight they play in Batavia and old friend Stolmy Pimentel gets the ball.  Spinners win tonight and they sweep the series.  Yay!

Celebrating a birthday with Kyle Snyder today is Michael Bowden.  Happy birthday, Michael.  Maybe he and Kyle went out last night, got blinding drunk and toasted their birthdays with “Fuck Theo!”.

I kid.  I’m a kidder.

Holy cow, Bowden was born the year I graduated high school.  Well that’s a kick in the ass.

Sun seems to be out and I’m almost ready to take on the day.  Hope you all have a great one – especially Kyle and Michael.
