Knowing that the Sox have already won this series…seeing Beckett pitch well…seeing Papi coming back to form…all these things made me happy today. But the Yankees blowing a 9-2 lead and seeing Rivera give up the tying and lead runs as they lose to the Nationals…that added a little extra width to my smile.
As I fully expected, the Yanks didn’t add on to their 1 game lead this weekend…and the Sox are one game away from fulfilling my ‘sweep’ prophecy.
Tomorrow I’ll get to enjoy Father’s Day with my dad – and I’m sure we’ll find time to watch the Yankees game since the Sox are on ESPN at 8pm. It’s been a nice weekend so far – tomorrow will just be icing!
