Well, not really.

Got up early this morning, cranked up the Christmas tunes, took down the Thanksgiving decorations and put up the Christmas ones!

There’s still work to do but the tree has been up since Sunday and now the windows and much of the house is decorated too.

I love this time of year and some might think the day after Thanksgiving is too early for Christmas music and decorations, I certainly don’t.

I’ll never understand why some people think it’s too soon to be happy.

Thought I’d try to keep a running tab of the Christmas movies I’ve watched thus far.

Monday, November 23The Ref

Tuesday, November 24Christmas in Connecticut

Wednesday, November 25The Miracle on 34th Street (Yep, THE Miracle. In 1955, The 20th Century Fox Hour presented a roughly 45-minute version of the Academy Award-winning 1947 Miracle on 34th Street starring Thomas Mitchell as Kris Kringle. Let’s just say, if you want to see Thomas Mitchell in a memorable Christmas movie, stick with It’s a Wonderful Life!)

Thursday, November 26Young at Heart (Someday I’ll have to devote an entire blog entry to this movie. I both love it and hate it at the same time. You could argue it isn’t technically a Christmas movie but the final scenes do take place during Christmas so it got in.)

Friday, November 27Home Alone 2 (I’ve seen the original a thousand times and only seen this one a handful of times so I thought I’d give it a go. Even for someone like me, who can suspend my belief indefinitely, this one had major plot holes. Also, I noticed myself bothered by the cartoon violence in this film, which both surprised me and kind of ruined the movie for me.)

It’s a warm November day and tonight we’ll have Thanksgiving Part 2 with leftovers, some freshly cooked vegetables and a few more relatives. The tomorrow the Christmas season begins for me in earnest!
