My cookies do NOT look like this
It’s fair to get that out of the way as soon as possible. I think I’m changing the name of this recipe to Ugly Banana Lemon Cookies.
Having written that, the cookies actually came out really good. I’d prefer a stronger banana taste (my fault, should have added an extra banana) but aside from that, I really like how they taste. Â I purposely left out the cloves and the nuts for personal preference reasons but I don’t feel like the cookies really needed them (although that would be the whole “spice” part, wouldn’t it?) The problems here are with my talents. I can barely draw a circle let alone get a cookie in that shape and I couldn’t frost something if my life depended on it. So with these two things in mind I will share with you a photo of my cookies but, seriously, they might be the ugliest sweets I’ve ever seen let alone created.
Also, the cookie has banana in it and the frosting has lemon in it so the plan was to sprinkle yellow sugar on them to pretty them up a little bit (lipstick on a pig, I know) but I had no yellow sugar so I used blue. Not that it matters, they are really not attractive. Â So close your eyes and pop one in your mouth…I promise you’ll enjoy it!
I need to challenge myself a bit more here so I’m thinking of cooking some actual food next week. We’ll see if I follow through.
They are so ugly that the other cookies in the house are making fun of them.
