So you get bugged to death.  VOTE VOTE VOTE…and then, suddenly, it’s all over.

“Yeah, I voted.  What now?”

Well, now you get to see the fruits of your labor.  Or at least you will beginning in January.

What the hell is THAT all about?  You get pummeled with urgings to vote.  You do so and then you have to wait two months to enjoy the benefits of your vote?  Who makes these rules?

Rob Bradford at WEEI, that’s who.  🙂

Yes, folks, thanks to all of YOU, you’re reading the blog of one of the two winners chosen in WEEI.com’s “Next Great Sports Blogger” contest.  Go freaking figure, huh?

I’m going to write something more involved (with plenty of specific thanks to go around!) once things are more settled, but for now here’s a general “thank you” to all of you who took the time out of your busy lives to go to weei.com and select my entry.  I was truly surprised when I was chosen as one of the 10 finalists, so you can imagine how stunned I still am to have seen this all the way through.  Without all of you overloading weei.com’s servers, it wouldn’t have been possible.  So, sincerely, thank you all.  I’ll do my best to not suck too much.

I’d like to thank President-Elect Barack Obama for keeping my mind off of the contest Tuesday night.  I won’t get too political, but I will say this, my minor victory didn’t bring me as much joy as his victory on November 4th…but it came pretty close.  🙂
