So Kyle pitched again in the GCL yesterday. The first inning he pitched, he got two ground-outs and a strike out. Unfortunately, he also gave up a single, walked a man and then gave up a three-run homerun. He came out for another inning and got the first two men out (strike out -looking – and a fly out) and then was taken out of the game.

Now the guy who replaced Kyle is also a right-handed pitcher…which makes me worry that they pulled Kyle because he was hurt again. But because I’m only getting this via the box score and wrap up on MiLB.com…I have no way to find out if this is true. Unless, of course, I send out more emails annoying the local media (Amalie Benjamin STILL hasn’t responded HOW many weeks later?) which I’m not above doing. Except I’d rather wait and just try to track down the info myself.

Continued PVs to Kyle. It’s going to come together for you, Kyle. It’s the waiting that’s such a bitch.

In other disappointing pitcher news….aw, hell, I’m just going to quote the PawSox site:

Colon, who had been 2-0, with an 0.64 ERA with the PawSox, lasted just two thirds of an inning, giving up 3 runs, including a 2 run homer to Matt Carson. Colon is trying to come back from a back injury. David Aardsma went one inning, returning from his groin strain. Aardsma walked 2 in one inning of work. Scheduled starter Michael Bowden finally got to pitch in the third. He promptly gave up a home run to Cody Ransom…

So we have that going for us. (Actually, it goes on to say that Bowden pitched five scoreless innings after that homerun so WOOT for him!)

And if I’m looking at the schedule correctly, David Pauley will be pitching at the Futures game on Saturday at Fenway. KellyO and I had suspected weeks ago that would would either see Pauley or Zink and it seems that we’re probably going to be right. Not that there’s anything wrong with seeing David Pauley pitch! (I think we’ll miss seeing Stolmy Pimentel pitch on Saturday for the Spinners. I guess the baseball gods thought seeing him pitch three times was enough for the season.)

I had a dream last night that I was with KellyO and our friend Cindy waiting for the Green Line and Keith Olbermann came over to say ‘hello’ because he recognized me and read my blog. We ended up bantering about the Yankees and I said “they probably came back to win against the Rangers tonight” to which he replied, “No, they lost. The final score was 8-6.”

Thanks for that info, Keith…it was easier to sleep through the rest of the night!!! (I heart Keith Olbermann. I don’t talk about him a lot here because he’s mostly associated with politics and not sports and I don’t like to get too political here, but he’s a huge baseball guy and I’ll always have a special place in my heart for him!)

The Red Sox won yesterday – Beckett looked pretty damn good, as did the offense. Let’s hope this is the start of something good on the road!!! Wake is on the mound tonight, going for the series win. “RUN SUPPORT!!! RUN SUPPORT!!!!”
