A PSA on this beautiful afternoon!

I don’t usually pass along a lot of stuff that gets sent my way, but I really thought this was worth putting out there. So here goes!

The Life is good Kids Foundation supports extraordinary charities that create a lasting positive impact on children facing unfair challenges, including the trauma of violence and poverty. The Foundation receives its principal financial support from the public via the charitable fundraising festivals conducted by Life is good, Inc. All proceeds from this year’s festival will benefit Project Joy, a Boston-based non-profit organization whose mission is to use the healing power of play to transform children impacted by violence, poverty and loss into healthy and joyful players in the game of life.

On July 19, Life is good will host a festival on Boston Common, featuring a “friendly” competition for the title of World’s Greatest Backyard Athlete. More than 100 people will compete for the title through a host of activities that include watermelon seed spitting, a Frisbee toss, bocce, and the Wiffle Ball Homerun Derby. In addition to the competition, the festival will feature great live music from Robert Randolph and the Family Band and The Melvin Sparks Band as well as classic backyard food, and a colorful mix-of good time games and activities for adults and children alike.
