Meanwhile, down in the minors…

gabesaysthanks.jpgGreenville opens their season today with Jon Lester pitching for new manager Gabe Kapler.  This is a game I’d love to be able to see!  They’re still taking it a little slow with Jon, but in the long run it’ll (hopefully) be what is absolutely best for him and the team.

Mike Timlin will pitch in the seventh today for Pawtucket and then start on Saturday IN Pawtucket.  I know I mentioned this yesterday – I’m just terribly excited at the prospect of seeing Mike pitch in Fenway next week and I want him to do well!

Googling Mike’s name I came across the same article by Bill Ballou that I referenced yesterday.  I didn’t realize yesterday that you could comment on the piece.  Today I noticed that only one person, thus far, commented and I have to admit the comment made me laugh out loud (and I promise I wasn’t the one who left it!):

Great opening line guys. Both Timlin and Shilling are older than Wakefield. Nice C-level journalism butt-munch – fact check boy

Bronson got beat like a rented mule last night (although he DID strike out nine and bunt for a hit).  I guess not having Extra Innings last night was a bit of a blessing.

Oh and those three errors by Mike Lowell last night?  Never happened.  I reserve the right to totally ignore them since he knocked in two runs with a double.   (Let’s not have it happen again, though, okay Mike?)

Daisuke this afternoon.   I’ll be in work with Game Day on in the background.  Here’s hoping for good things!
