Happy birthday to Peter Wolf!
When I was a senior in high school, our graduating class sold sponsorships for some book we were selling. I bought a couple and signed them with some of Woofa Goofa’s signature ‘rants’. My sister thought I was crazy…and I guess I was. But Peter Wolf helped shape my mind musically. I listened to the J Geils Band for years (still do, actually) and he was a big reason why.
So it isn’t baseball-related, but I figured since I can’t sleep, Wolf deserved a shout out.
Oh yeah, one baseball-related item…I’m pretty happy with the way most of our pitchers look. When I say ‘most’ I mean pretty much everyone who ISN’T name Joel.
Most of my friends have returned from Ft Myers…those who haven’t will at some point this week. I want to thank them all for the phone calls, text messages, emails, comments and pictures! You made me feel like I was there without making me feel guilty that I wasn’t! Glad you all had such a wonderful time! Safe travels to Kelly and Lynn today!
The Sox have won two games, ended one in tie and lost four (I actually had to look that up, which shows you how little it means to me). I’ve read on a few other NON Red Sox blogs that Sox fans should be worried about the way the Sox are beginning the pre-season. All I can think of is what a lousy spring training the Sox had in 2004. And I think that year turned out all right.
I’ll start worrying about wins and losses in April!
I leave you with a picture of the Captain courtesy of Yahoo! – If for no other reason than it isn’t a picture of Daisuke. 🙂
