Putting aside, for the moment, the fact that he’s stinking up Fenway, I’m noticing something tonight. He keeps grabbing at one of the buttons on his jersey between pitches. He’s been doing it for a few innings. Rubbing his fingers on it really more than grabbing at it.
So here I’m wondering if these blister problems we heard so much about in the off-season but have heard nothing or at least not MUCH about this season are finally showing themselves.
Let me digress for a moment and yell YOUUUUUK! Two-run homer in the sixth to make the score 5-3. Beats the hell out of 5-1. Good job, Kevin. You deserve a lot more credit for the way you’ve been playing this season than you are getting.
Anyway, watching Beckett tonight, I’m almost convinced he a blister or two and we just aren’t hearing about it. Mind you, I’m not making excuses for his suckitude. Not at all…there is no excuse. I’m just wondering if now, on TOP of his suckitude, we have some blisters to worry about.
It’ll be interesting to see if I turn out to be right. It’ll also p1ss me off if I am.
