Let’s not do this again, okay Trot? It’s a freaking Spring Training game, brother. Last year when I was in Ft Myers, Trot made a similar play in the outfield and we were all going crazy, not because it was such a great play (which it was) but because we were afraid he was going to hurt himself. This is why we love Trot, the ‘dirt dog’…he plays all out no matter what. But, honestly, he’s getting older and we don’t have all that many outfielders right now. We need this man healthy!
I received a text message yesterday from my friend Dale…a picture of the City of Palms Park. A bunch of my friends were there watching their last Spring Training game together. My friends Kelly and Lynn called me after the game to tell me all the fun they’ve been having over the weekend. The Springing for a Cure benefit was Saturday night and Curt Schilling and John Flaherty were there ("I bought John Flaherty a drink" Kelly so happily exclaimed). The evening went well and all my friends had a great time. I’m sad to have missed them and a small part of me wishes I was in Florida right now…but only a small part of me.
Bronson is on the mound again today. Which kind of gives me a headache. I
have to stop caring about the Spring Training games.
Oh, and Korea kicked the USA in the behind last night. Yeah, these games are so fixed aren’t they? (Yes, folks, that was sarcasm.) Dontrelle Willis is looking about as good, if not worse, than my Mr. Arroyo right now, eh?
Parting shot for Noni today: Wake pitching last Friday!
